My Top 10 Books I Want To Read, But Never Quite Got Round To!

Rather than the next ten books I am going to read, this post is about some classic titles and more contemporary supernatural fiction that I have heard a lot about, but has never made it to the top of my reading pile.

They do vary quite a lot, but are all on the list because they have been recommended to me at school, in college or from friends on and offline.

Listen what I have to say about them here:

  1. Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien
  2. The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien [reading now!]
  3. 1984 by George Orwell
  4. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
  5.  Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
  6. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen [free to download on Kindle]
  7. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (3 book series) [also available for single book download here]
    [First book read]

  8. Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith (10 book series) [also available for single book download here]
  9.  House of the Night Series (first six) by L.C.CastKristian Cast (10 book series) [also available for single book download here]
  10. The Host by Stephanie Meyer [read]
Please comment below and let me know what you have heard a lot about and is on your reading list.

Is there something I need to add to my reading list? Let me know in the comments.

Thank you for reading & watching,

Love Rie x

  1. I have never seen Lord of the Rings either! Great vlog!!! xxx

    1. @Ruth - Thank you hunny :) I have been enjoying your blogs too! Maybe I will have to take a trip down to Plymouth soon just so we can watch these bad boys :D

  2. 1,2 and 4 are Musts! Hitch hikers is very funny and really appeals to my sense of humour.

I also need to read Pride and Prejudice.

I think you should also read a Bond book and when we get this lending thing working I will send one. Even if you don't think the story line is interesting you'll find the social differences in the book, because of the time gap, very interesting. That's also one I'd love to see a blog for! =]

    1. @Sam - I will get reading Mr Crossley!! Which Bond book is your favourite so far? Maybe we will have to do a Kindle book swap soon. I really want you to read City of the Falling Sky (my last book review) it is a fantastic book!! ly xx

    2. Well I've only read two and one of them is paper form. I will have finished a third by this weekend. So far it is From Russia with Love. When I go back to plym this weekend I'll have wireless so we can give it a go. =] xxx

  3. I've finished 2 & 3 and really liked them though I would advise you to read 'we' by Jewgeni Samjatin instead of 1984 as it is said to be the inspiration for goerge orwells novell. It has such an interesting story (especially as it from 1920) and it is linguistically just fantastic!

well and then I have started 1, 4 & 5 form the list and I definately want to read through them eventually...I have the complete hitchhikers guide collection on my bookshelf. so you can borrow it when ever :)

    keep on vloggin :)

    1. @Laura Thank you so much for your comments. I have added "We" to my list and will defiantly be checking it out.

I might also have to take you up on the offer to borrow books.
